Costly to produce and artisanale. Unobtrusive and yet unmistakable in its expression. Freitag
Since 1993 Freitag produces and distributes bags and accessories made of used material coming from the streets: recycled truck canvas covers, inner tubes and car straps. Inspired by the heavy goods vehicle traffic on the route Hamburg – Palermo in front of their house and the bags of bike couriers seen in New York, the brothers and graphic designers Daniel and Markus Freitag developed their first Messenger bag. With this functional, water resistant and robust bag a new trend was born. Since 2003 one of the first FREITAG TOP CAT messenger bags is presented in the design collecton of MoMA, New York. Today FREITAG produces more than 120,000 products a year, that corresponds with a traffic jam of 60 kilometres length.
As bag producers, the “Fine Art of Travelling” is our daily business. Therefore FREITAG is pleased to support the European Award of the Stiftung der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie 2007.

Dr.Hauschka Skincare
Drawing on its experience in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, Wala Heilmittel GmbH went on to develop the Dr.Hauschka Skincare which went on the market in 1967. Finest natural ingredients and choice medicinal herb extracts are the basis for the particularly nurturing qualities of these products. By addressing the skin as a holistic organ and stimulating its natural functions, Dr.Hauschka Skincare encourage the skin to utilise its own powers of self-regeneration. All Dr.Hauschka Skincare products carry the "Certified Natural Cosmetics" seal of the German BDIH.
In the fashion industry, too, the development of products with a sustainable design which reflects the social values and identity of the company is becoming increasingly important. Rapidly changing fashions and short-lived trends are giving way to quality and trust in the product - aspects which are central to Dr.Hauschka cosmetics, too. This is why Dr.Hauschka Skin Care is supporting young talent in the fashion industry through the German Apparel Industry Foundation, a foundation dedicated to the promotion and training of up-and-coming designers .
Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux
Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux advises companies in the development, management, and evaluation of brands. In order for a brand to be powerful, the idea behind it is crucial – it governs all forms of communication, the brand experience, and thus the way the brand and the company are perceived. Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux directs and oversees this process for its clients, and for more than 30 years has been serving international companies as their lead agency for corporate and brand identity, among them the BMW Group (the BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands), Deutsche Telekom, Swiss Post, TUI, Unilever Bestfoods, Jura, and many others.
As an identity-creating culture, fashion is the ideal marketplace for strong ideas. Because fashion is subject to short-lived yet prominent trends, the requirements imposed on the continuous long-term refinement and management of brand identity are considerable and diversified. “Our intention with the Special Award ‘Fashion Branding’ is not only to inspire this process but also to support and commend efforts that showcase the long-term brand idea and make it experienceable,” says Gion-Men Krügel-Hanna, senior designer and unit leader at Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux.
