the European Fashion Award – FASH 2008. The prized awarded by the The Stiftung
der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie (German Fashion Industry Foundation) –
SDBI looked for fashion under the title "Attitude" in line with the needs of the

Award of the Stiftung der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie 2006
"Local - Global" was the theme for the Europe-wide competition for the Award of
the Stiftung der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie 2006. Wanted are designs based on local apparel culture,
which provide their own attitude and identity in the market. The invitation was
extended to European fashion and design institutes to combine these local
elements into a new and globally attractive symbolism in their entries.

Is sport just in fashion, or is there more behind it?
The Award
of the Stiftung der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie was searching for
answers to these questions by turning to universities and fashion
schools throughout Europe for the first time. The task under the title "sports inspired fashion" was to reflect changed clothing behaviour and to design clothing that meets the emotional and functional needs of customers.
